Jackson Symphony Selects New Symphony Director

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — The Jackson Symphony announced their selection for Symphony Director on Thursday Peter Shannon came to the United States in 2007, and comes to Jackson from the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus in Savannah Georgia. One critic described Shannon as a “juggernaut on stage,” and compared a Philharmonic performance of Beethoven‘s Fifth Symphony to that of being at a rock concert. The Jackson Symphony in its 52nd Season of providing music programs to the citizens of West Tennessee. The orchestra and affiliated ensembles perform for a total audience of over 30,000 annually.
