NORTH JACKSON — A West Tennessee veteran who served in World War II was honored Saturday. Judge Clifford Davis served in the U.S. Navy, and Saturday morning the Jackson Meadow Independent Senior Living Community gave him the American Eagle Award. Judge is Davis’ first name but he says, he’s never worked as a legal judge. Mr. Clifford says he served on Battleship Missouri and he was happy to share this moment with the people he loves. “Wonderful people, lots of friends and glad to have my family with me too today,” Davis said. Holiday Retirement Corporation, the company that owns Jackson Meadow, presents the award to military veterans in the community or residents at the home. The award is given after someone in the Madison County area nominates them.
