SOUTH JACKSON — On Sunday afternoon, residents came together in South Jackson to pick up debris left over from Sunday night’s severe weather. Residents on Missouri Street in Bemis picked up limbs after strong winds brought down trees. The City of Jackson used bulldozers and chainsaws to remove a massive tree from the southern end of the street. One of the residents, 90-year-old Mary Kathryn Crowley, was emotional as she told us how thankful she was, that her neighbors stepped in to help. “It’s just hard, I live alone, and these are my good neighbors,” Crowley said. “I have the best neighbors in the world.” Emergency management officials say so far there are still no reported injuries from the storm.
