Paris residents could see tax hike

PARIS, Tenn. — A tax hike may be coming to Paris residents. On first reading, the pairs Commission approved a city property tax increase. The increase will be 8 cents per 100 dollars of assessed property value, therefore tax will be set at $0.73. This was the first increase in property taxes in Paris in almost 30 years. If approved on the second reading, the tax would begin to take effect July 1.
