Murder victim’s family needs community help

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — Michael Brown’s three children will not get to grow up knowing their father. His third child was on the way when he was gunned down in Humboldt three years ago. Sharon Ward says her nephew’s million dollar smile would light up a room, but her frustration the past three years has brought out more questions than answers. “He stayed over there in and out of the house with six to seven people all day, and nobody saw nothing? Nobody heard nothing?” Ward said. Brown was murdered outside a home on Elliott Street before midnight on June 15, 2011. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. Three years later, the mystery remains behind what happened. his family said someone has to come forward with answers. Ward said her nephew’s kids and family deserve to know what happened, and she wants to know why eyewitnesses will not speak. “Where are his friends now? He [doesn’t] have any friends to talk, and tell nothing about what happened,” Ward said. Until they get some answers, she said the family will keep their ears open for information. Humboldt Police said anyone with information is urged to call the Humboldt Police Department at (731) 784-1322 or leave an anonymous tip with Crimestoppers.
