CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn.- A dead beaver in the road is blamed for a van veering off the highway and landing upside down in the Forked Deer River Wednesday evening. It happened around 6:30 p.m. along Highway 70-79 in Crockett County. Troopers said the two adults and two children inside were able to get out with the help of a passing driver. The good samaritan had to cut the seat belt for a woman trapped inside. Officers believe the driver swerved to miss the dead animal, lost control and flipped while going down the embankment.
