Verdict Handed Down in Spicer Murder Trial

OBION COUNTY, Tenn. A guilty verdict has been handed down against an Obion County man on trial in a cold case murder. According to Sheriff Jerry Vastbinder, a jury found Jarrod Spicer guilty of second degree murder, reckless homicide, aggravated robbery and theft in the death of John Hood, 77. Hood was living with Spicer’s mother when he was killed in March 2008. Prosecutors argued, Spicer went to the house, argued with Hood and strangled him. Spicer was not indicted until October of last year.
