JACKSON, Tenn.- 105 Air Force Junior ROTC cadets have been honing their leadership skills at the Ballpark at Jackson. Thursday night before the first pitch of the Generals game the cadets took the field carrying the flags from all 50 states. 10 high schools from five different states participate in the program where the Junior ROTC students learn how to become a better student leader. Leaders said it is good for teenagers to learn leadership at this time in their lives. “The Air Force Junior ROTC program is a cadet run program with the instructors just kind of having oversight. So the cadets do the leading so we’ve got to teach them how to be better leaders so they’re able to do that, so that’s the whole purpose of the camp,” said CMSGT Wayne Barron, ROTC Faculty Advisor, at Norht Side High School. The cadets are participating in week-long leadership camp in Lavinia for Junior ROTC members and will graduate Friday.
