Accused kidnapper arraigned on additional charges

HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — A man accused of kidnapping a teen at knife-point is now facing additional charges. Ma’quarious Cathey was arraigned on aggravated assault, evading arrest and reckless driving charges in Henderson County Court on Tuesday morning. Cathey will appear in general sessions court again on Wednesday and is currently being held in Henderson County Jail. Investigators say during the early morning hours of June 23, Cathey kidnapped a 16-year-old at knife-point in the parking lot of Walmart in Oakland. Investigators say the victim, who was not hurt, did not know Cathey.
