Family celebrates 98-year-old WWII vet

MILAN, Tenn. — A family reunion had another purpose on Friday afternoon. The Depriest family is honoring its patriarch during their Fourth of July family gathering. Sidney is 98 years old and a World War II vet. “We try to have as many family gatherings as we can with him because of his age, and plus, he enjoys seeing all the people, they all come around and have a lot to do with him and he just really enjoys it,” Betsy Sego, his daughter said. The family says because of his service, Fourth of July was a perfect day to honor Sidney.
