New mobile restaurant holds grand opening

SOUTH JACKSON — A meals on wheels restaurant holds its grand opening on Thursday for the hungry crowds in the Hub City. Customers lined up at Hambone’s Barbecue Thursday afternoon. The owner of the restaurant on wheels says the crowds were one to remember. This weekend the owners are planning on having a water slide and water basketball for kids. Some of the restaurant’s sales will go to a good cause. “[It] just means so much to me because we’re giving back to Relay for Life,” Jeff Hammonds said, owner of the business. “Because my mother and my father died of cancer and we wanna give back to them.” Hambone’s is on South Highland Ave. For right now they say they’re open Thursday through Saturday, unless the customers demand more.
