Jackson attorney in court for drug, prostitution charges

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A Jackson attorney, charged with possessing crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and patronizing prostitution, has his case bound over to the grand jury on Thursday. After a search warrant was issued, officers reported finding crack cocaine, more than a dozen crack pipes, a shotgun and three handguns at Stephen Brooks’s home. Brooks’ prostitution charge is in relation to an incident from 2012. In an affidavit, Sabrina Cox admitted to providing sexual acts for brooks in return for money. Cox was arrested on July 3 during a prostitution sting. Brooks is set to be in court again in October.
