HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn — A 24-year-old woman is in extremely critical condition after she is found on the side of the road, Thursday night. The Tennessee Highway Patrol said they are investigating a possible hit and run off Highway 412 in Darden near Corinth road. They say just after 10 p.m., authorities arrived on the scene. Witnesses told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News they saw troopers searching the grass near the accident for more than 3 hours. Robert Hill, who lives across from the scene, said he did not hear anything Thursday night. “It blew my mind. I couldn’t imagine someone getting hurt like that and us not hearing something about it, this close,” Hill said. THP said they are trying to figure out who left Brittany Simpson, 24, from Perry County, on the side of the road. Although right now it is ruled a hit and run, THP said they cannot rule out something else happened to Simpson. “I’m concerned. People should have more care about people than that. They should do whatever they can to help,” Hill said. Hill said a lot of people walk along this road and now he worries for other’s safety too. “They need to be punished. Somebody hits somebody out here, they need to stop and do the best they can to help,” Hill said. The THP said they are looking for two Hispanic males driving a truck. A possible vehicle description is a Ford four door pick-up truck, either gold or silver in color. The truck had dark tinted windows with decals on the back window. If you saw a white female in her early 20’s with two Hispanic males Thursday night, or have any other information about this accident, call Tennessee Highway Patrol at (731) 423-6635.
