CHESTER COUNTY, Tenn. — Zach Adams, the man charged in the kidnapping and death of nursing student Holly Bobo, appeared in court on Tuesday morning for an unrelated charge. During his short appearance, he waived his right to a preliminary hearing. His attorney, Kandi Collins, said they made the decision together. “Zach and I met for quite a bit of time and he discussed all the options and we thought it was the best course of action and so I think everything went as it was supposed to today,” Collins said. Adams is accused of assaulting an officer in mid-June while being held at the Chester County Jail. His case was bound over to the grand jury. Collins said when the grand jury meets in October, they will decide whether or not to indict Adams on the assault charge. Adams was charged with Especially Aggravated Kidnapping and Felony First Degree Murder of Holly Bobo in March. Bobo had been missing since 2011 after disappearing from her Decatur County home. The TBI says that this investigation is still ongoing.
