Man Pistol-Whipped on Lincoln Street

JACKSON, Tenn. – Jackson police are investigating an assault on Lincoln Street. Police were called to the scene just after 10:30 p.m. after reports indicated a man had been shot. Once they arrived, they learned the victim had been pistol whipped. The man told police that he was standing just outside his car on Booker Street when another car pulled up. The victim said he got into a fight with the man in the car and was eventually struck in the face with the pistol which caused it to go off. The man was not shot by the bullet. The victim ran to a nearby apartment on Lincoln Street to ask for help. His injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening Investigators said that the suspect was a black man with braids wearing a pullover.
