Ceremony to honor law enforcement on Friday, May 14

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is honoring law enforcement through an annual event.

The sheriff’s office says it will be hosting the National Law Enforcement Memorial Service at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 14.

The service will include singing of the national anthem by local recording artist Laurice Lanier, a speech from Rep. Chris Todd, the presentation of colors, and the “Lest we forget” ceremony, honoring fallen officers.

The event is usually held on May 15, but was pushed forward by one day by Sheriff John Mehr, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office says the public is invited to attend the ceremony. It will be held at 317 Denmark-Jackson Road in Denmark.
