Woman dies in house fire
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A Middle Tennessee woman has died after being dragged from her burning home by neighbors.
The Leaf-Chronicle (http://leafne.ws/19CP98j) reports 71-year-old Barbara Eckman died Tuesday night at a Nashville hospital after being revived by emergency workers outside her home in Clarksville. The newspaper reports she apparently suffered from smoke inhalation before collapsing by her door.
Fire Marshal Ray Williams said the blaze began in a bedroom used for storage, but the cause is still under investigation.
