Alisa White inaugurated at president at Austin Peay
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Austin Peay State University officials have held an inauguration ceremony for the school’s 10th president.
The Leaf-Chronicle (http://leafne.ws/1CUVJUV) reports the inauguration for Alisa White was held Monday in Austin Peay’s Mabry Concert Hall. Tennessee Board of Regents Chancellor John Morgan formally installed her as president during the ceremony, though she actually began serving in the role in June.
White smiled as she accepted the responsibility to lead Austin Peay, to uphold its traditions, to build upon past achievements and to give her best efforts to ensure the university’s success.
She pledged to work with others and “to do whatever is in my power to advance this institution.”
The previous president, Timothy Hall, left to become president of Mercy College in New York.
