Greenfield investigates recently found funds

WEAKLEY COUNTY, Tenn. — In an update on the newly discovered funds in Greenfield, the city attorney has begun his investigation of the budget. Aldermen recently discovered almost $280,000 in a “rainy day fund” outside the official city budget. City Attorney Beau Pemberton is starting an inquiry about the discovered funds brought up in the last Greenfield city board meeting. “They’ve asked me to inquire as to who knew what information about this money, when these individuals knew it and to figure out why these were not put forth in the budget in some form of disclosure,” Pemberton said.
