Man faces firearm charge in weekend shootout

JACKSON, Tenn. — Arraigned Tuesday on charges related to Saturday’s shooting on Oil Well Road, Gregory Sails now faces weapons charges for reportedly being involved in a weekend shootout. Court papers say after the vehicle he was in crashed, Sails fled the scene with a Colt .38 Special revolver, a gun he reportedly tried to get rid of and later was detected by a K-9 officer. Sails is charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony. He already is being held on charges of evading arrest and drug possession.
