An orthopedic surgeon in the Hub City is now one of three doctors in Tennessee doing a knee replacement procedure that creates the potential for a natural feeling knee. Doctor G. Bradford Wright of Sports Orthopedic and Spine is doing the Conformis Knee Replacement Implant procedure. Makers of the implant said each appliance is made to fit precisely without limited range of size which can help extend the life of the implant. Doctors feel the procedure preserves more bone than traditional total knee replacement and allows for quicker patient healing. “The beauty of this is that it really, really does re-create the normal mechanics of the knee more closely than anything else that’s out on the market,” said Dr. Bradley Wright, an orthopedic surgeon. “The biggest advantage is that it more perfectly restores the function of the knee, of their knee, to what it was before.” Regional Hospital of Jackson is hosting an information dinner with Doctor Wright about the procedure on February 21.
