Jackson Exchange Club Presents Jackson Man of the Year

The Jackson Exchange Club awarded its annual Man of the Year award, Tuesday night. This year’s honoree, Steve Bowers, a familiar voice on News Talk 101.5 FM. A standing room only crowd applauded his achievements that extend beyond the airwaves. He was lauded for his numerous civic and community involvements, though groups like the Boys and Girls Club, The Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce and Ayer’s Childrens Medical Center. “I spoke at this banquet one year and was asked to read the Book of Gold Deeds one year, so I’ve been involved with the banquet,” said Steve Bowers, Man of the Year. “I’m very appreciative of the history and traditions because so many of the names, Judge Taylor and all these people, you know. I met years ago and covered doing news and everything.” This is the 66th year of the Exchange Club has honored a Man of the Year for the City of Jackson.
