Pedestrian Hit, Traffic On Highland Slowed

A pedestrian-involved wreck happened Wednesday night in front of Englewood Baptist Church that slowed down traffic and sent one man to the hospital. It was just before 8:30 p.m. when police said a woman driving north hit a man who had walked across the five lanes of traffic on North Highland. Officers said she saw the man who was jay-walking and tried to slow down and swerved, but still hit him with her passenger-side mirror. Investigators said the man appeared to have been intoxicated and suffered a head injury, but is expected to fully recover.
