While some college students are spending their spring break on the beach, some Maryville College students are spending part of their vacation on the road-on bicycles. The students and faculty have taken “Road Trip” to a whole new meaning. The group is taking a six day bicycling trip totaling more than 400 miles across Tennessee. The group started on their journey in Cordova and stopped in Jackson Sunday. Organizers said it is a team effort as churches along the way are providing meals for the cyclists. Bicyclers said the journey has not only been a great work out but a bonding experience. “Just the folks that you meet along the way, the way the people that open up their churches and their homes, and the hospitality, It’s just great,” said Organizer Bruce Guillaume. The group will pedal to Waverly, Franklin, and Crossville until they reach Maryville. They plan to bike 50 to 100 miles a day.
