Five pounds of marijuana with a street value of $5,000 was seized from an Alamo home on Church street. “Getting any type of drug off the street is important to us. A lot of times we have to dedicate more time to other problems like the meth and cocaine issues,” Chief Deputy Eric Uselton said. Along with the marijuana, a fully loaded unlicensed 38 special hand gun was taken from the home. “It was stolen somewhere out of Madison County is all we know at the time,” said Deputy Jordan Spraggins. Four members of the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department and one member of the Alamo Police Department arrived at the house knocked at the door, entered and soon found what they were looking for. “After we got there and secured everybody consent to search was given on the spot on the scene and more arrests will probably follow,” Uselton said. Arthur Ingram, 22, of Alamo was charged with possession and theft of property. He was released on $7,500 bond. Kinesha Jennings, 20, of Alamo is charged with possession. She was released on $5,000 bond. “I wouldn’t call it marijuana season or anything. The weather could have something to do with more people getting out and doing things,” Spraggins said. The Sheriff’s department said the marijuana came from a large grow operation out of state. “If it’s homegrown it’s not homegrown from around here. It was not a grow operation from around here,” said Uselton.
