Armstrong World Industries, Inc. announced the addition of a third production shift to it’s Jackson facility, Friday. The project is expected to be complete by the end of May and will add 95 jobs at the business. “We‘re working to create the best environment for creating jobs, and our Jobs4TN strategy focuses on expanding existing businesses in Tennessee,” Governor Bill Haslam said. “Armstrong‘s decision to expand in Jackson is great news for Jackson and West Tennessee, and I appreciate the company‘s investment in our state.” “Like other businesses, we adjusted our manufacturing footprint to coincide with the downturn in the economy and significant drop in demand over the last four years,” Brent Hayman, Armstrong Jackson plant manager, said. “Now we‘re seeing some demand return, and as a result, we‘re adding shifts in certain facilities like Jackson to fill our customer‘s needs. We are excited about the additional jobs we can bring to Jackson, and we look forward to continued success and partnership with the community.” “Armstrong‘s expansion is affirmation that Jackson is a good place to do business,” Jimmy Harris, Madison County mayor, said. “We appreciate Armstrong for the strong commitment they have made to maintain a business climate that fosters growth.” Interested applicants should apply in person at the Tennessee Career Center located at 362 Carriage House Drive, Jackson, Tenn. Positions include maintenance, saw operators and lumber grading.
