Workers Still Cleaning Up From Flooding At Hardin Co. Middle
Clean-up crews at Hardin County Middle School worked all through the night after a major water line broke Friday morning. The maintenance supervisor told 7 Eyewitness News Saturday the water has been cleared out of the middle school with help from floor machines and a vacuum. Now, they are using heaters and humidifiers to clean up the rest of the water damage. According to the utility director, up to 200,000 gallons of water flooded the middle school overnight Thursday, resulting in damage costs estimated between $100,000 to $200,000. Maintenance workers said the water line has been repaired, and they will have to conduct tests to make sure the school is safe before students return. District leaders said they should know by noon Sunday if Hardin County Middle School will be open on Monday.
