Elderly woman’s body found in Hawesville fire
HAWESVILLE, Ky. (AP) – A house fire has killed an elderly woman in western Kentucky. Kentucky State Police said firefighters dispatched to a structure fire in Hawesville discovered the body of 91-year-old Ines Smith after containing a blaze in her charred home Thursday morning. An autopsy will be performed. A KSP detective, the state fire marshal’s office and the Hancock County coroner’s office are investigating, but authorities said there was no immediate evidence of foul play.
