Griffin’s Case Sent to Grand Jury

A man who police said lured a young boy to an abandoned house in east Jackson and raped him repeatedly appeared in court. Christopher Griffin, 28, is charged with not only raping a boy half his age, but exposing the child to the virus that causes aids. His charges are three counts of statutory rape and criminal exposure to HIV. Griffin waived his rights this morning and the judge sent the case to the Madison County grand jury. The victim said he met Griffin online and then met him at an abandoned house on Hale Street where they had sex. Police said Griffin admitted to the act and also told officers he was HIV positive.
