Jackson Police Investigate Shooting and Robbery

A 19-year-old Jackson man is recovering after being shot in the leg during an apparent robbery, Thursday night. According to officers, the victim arranged to meet a man named “Ray” through an acquaintance and sell him some speakers. The victim said they scheduled to meet at 8:30 p.m., Thursday, on Sta-Les Cove. But instead of buying the speakers, the victim said “Ray” and another man pulled out a silver handgun and stole the speakers instead. The victim told officers he was shot after slapping the gun out of the man’s hand and trying to get into his truck. The victim was able to drive himself to the hospital. The first suspect known only by the name of “Ray” is described as a young black man between 15 and 16-year-olds. He is said to have short hair and a darker complexion, be about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a slim build. He was wearing a black zip-up sweat shirt. The second suspect is also described as a young black man between 15 and 16-years-old. He is said to have a medium complexion and be about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a stockier build. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. The Jackson Police Department asks that if you find yourself in a violent situation and someone is demanding money or property that you comply with those demands, which lessens the risk that you will be hurt.
