Wedgeworth Tranferred to Louisiana
One of the two Louisiana fugitives is headed back to the state where he escaped. Court documents show Ricky Wedgeworth, 36, of Memphis, is being returned to Louisiana to face a federal charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. Both Wedgeworth and Darian Pierce, 33, of Bogalusa, La. – who is scheduled for a detention hearing in Memphis, Friday – were captured earlier this week after spending 11 days on the run and several days in the Jackson area. The two were arrested in a stolen Madison County Parks and Recreation vehicle, after leading officers from Mississippi and Tennessee on a chase during rush hour in Memphis, Monday. They are accused of tying up a county worker at Pugh Bourne Park in northeast Madison County and stealing his truck.
