Escapees Return to Louisiana; Appear in Court

The two Louisiana prison escapees and murder suspects who spent 11 days on the run through four states are back in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Both Ricky Wedgeworth and Darian Pierce, who spent several days in the Jackson area returned to face charges there, Monday night. The tow appeared during a processing hearing, Tuesday morning at the Department of Public Safety. Both have been transferred to the state prison in Angola to begin serving the rest of their original sentences for attempted second degree murder and armed robbery. Escape, murder and a host of other charges could be added by authorities in Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. On March 14, they were arrested in a stolen Madison County Parks and Recreations vehicle after leading officers from Mississippi and Tennessee on a chase during rush hour in Memphis.
