Cannon Found Guilty of Aggravated Robbery
The Jackson man who police said told a woman he was robbing her because he had bills to pay has been convicted of the crime. Wednesday, a jury deliberated less than 20 minutes before convicting Carlos Cannon, 25, of aggravated robbery. He faces 8 to 12 years in prison. The jury found him guilty of following a 41-year-old woman from a convenience store, then robbing her at gunpoint in an alley on Airways Boulevard in November 2009. Cannon was on the run for about six weeks before being captured in Illinois.
