Carroll County Chamber Helps People and Economy
Carroll County Chamber of Commerce members are asking anyone who is willing to donate at least $10 to a new food distribution program for low income families. However, those families are not the only ones benefiting. Chamber members say they will purchase the food for the program in the hometown of the volunteer who made the donation. They hope this will help boost local businesses. Only two weeks into the program, the chamber has already raised about $1,700. “It really shouldn’t be a surprise to me. But any time you launch a program like this, because it is low key, you do worry about are the people going to respond and the response has been great,” said Brad Hurley, President of the Chamber of Commerce. Any families who wish to apply to receive the food supply can do so by contacting the Chamber at (731) 986-4664. They plan to distribute the food in May.
