Fairmont Street Wreck
Fairmont Street in East Jackson was packed with fire officials, police and witnesses after a crash that sent a car into a tree. Fire officials said when they arrived onto the scene, of the two people that were in the crash only one was still there, trapped inside. Witnesses said they believe the man that was able to escape the car was the passenger and possibly in his late teens. They said he was bleeding from his nose and his forehead. Police said someone in a private car transferred him to the hospital. As for the driver, fire officials said it took them about 20 minutes to get him out of the car, they said he was unconscious at the time and are unsure if his injuries are life threatening. For now officials are investigating the scene in hopes of determining the cause of the crash. The Jackson Fire Department said alcohol may be to blame.
