Man Arrested Charged in Thefts
Investigators in Henry County said the know who is to blame for a string of church break ins and have one of them in custody. Investigators have arrested Christopher Gibson, 18, of Paris. He is jailed on three counts of burglary and several charges of theft. They also believe he and another man forced their way into Spring Hill Baptist Church last month and took money and electronics. The same night the two are believed to have broke into another church, New Hope Baptist Church, taking money there as well. “The good Lord upstairs, he was watching out over us and sooner or later when you do stuff like that your gonna get caught,” said Tony Szabo, a member of Spring Hill Baptist. Deputies said they arrested Gibson after he tried to sell stolen items from a home break in to a local pawn shop. They also said they arrested two of Gibson’s friends, a 17-year-old and a 13-year-old, on theft charges for the home burglary. Officers believe another man helped Gibson in the church and home burglaries. Deputies said they are actively working to arrest him.
