Accidental Shooting in Crockett County

Investigators in Crockett County are trying to determine how a teenage girl was shot, Tuesday night, though they are calling it an accident. Sheriff Troy Klyce said the shooting happened along Salem Church Road near Gadsden. He said the girl was shot in the abdomen with a shotgun by a teenage boy. They were in a house with several other teens. According to the sheriff, the young girl was alert when medics arrived. 7 Eyewitness News is following this story and will have more details as soon as they become available.
