Update: Benton Co. Inmate Caught

The Benton County inmate that escaped work detail Friday morning has been caught. According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Department, William Charles Candler, 20, was found behind a house 4 miles from where the inmates were picking up litter. Sheriff King said, Candler left the road and stopped by a neighbor’s house and called his father. Deputies traced the phone call and found Candler behind the house. Candler escaped just after 9 a.m. Friday morning. Original Story Below: Benton County authorities are searching for an inmate who escaped a work detail, Friday morning. According to the sheriff’s department, William Charles Candler, 20, escaped a litter crew. Candler is described as a white male with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a fair complexion, wears his hair short and was last seen sporting a mustache and goatee. He is 5′ 9″ tall and weighs 152 pounds. Candler was last seen wearing bright orange shirt and pants He reportedly has two tattoos. One is barbed wire on his left wrist and the other is a four leaf clover with a crown on his right forearm.
