Parson Receives Bronze Star

A Jackson resident and Tennessee Air National Guard Master Sergeant is being honored for his service in Afghanistan. Master Sgt. Michael Parson of the 164th Airlift Security Forces Squadron recently received the Bronze Star for his actions while deployed in 2011. Parson was serving with the 455th Expeditionary Security Forces, where he orchestrated more than 120 outside-the wire patrols and directed security at the site of a downed Army attack helicopter, allowing the aircraft the aircraft to be recovered.
