Obion Co. Mayor Declares August Northwest Tennessee Disaster Services Month

OBION COUNTY, Tenn. – Obion County Mayor Benny McGuire declared the month of August Northwest Tennessee Disaster Services Month. Mayor McGuire signed the proclamation Friday. Northwest Tennessee Disaster Services is a non profit organization which caters to the needs of those affected by natural disasters and those in need of basic food supplies. The organization also teaches first aid classes and trains residents on how to perform CPR. It is run by more than 50 volunteers and depends on donations from the community. Mayor McGuire said he wants to encourage Tennesseans to continue to support the organization.
