Armed Robbery Suspect Turns Himself In

BELLS, Tenn. – According to officials, a day after robbing the Gas USA store on Highway 412 in Bells, Jeffrey Bratton walked into the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department and turned himself in. According to officials, Bratton was the man caught on tape walking into the convenience store and pointing a gun at the woman behind the counter. “I’m glad the girl was OK and everybody was safe but it really hurt us you know. We are very hard working people,” said owner Sukh Jit Boparai. The owner stated that Bratton left with $275. Police say Bratton fled to Arkansas. He learned that officials in Crockett County knew who he was and his name and face were put on WBBJ-TV. Monday, Bratton made several calls to the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department then he walked in to the Sheriff’s Department to surrender. Bratton faces a charge of Aggravated Robbery.
