Local Efforts fror Walk to End Alzheimers Kicked Off

JACKSON, Tenn.- Supporters of an organization to help fight Alzheimers Disease have announced plans for an event that will kick-off local efforts to fight the disease. The Alzheimers Association announced that the 2012 Walk to End Alzheimers theme is “Jackson Alz-Stars Team Up Against Alzheimers.” The walk is part of the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds support and research. “Every person who participates, knows more about the disease, the signs of the disease and how we are here to help support those who have it and those taking care of those who have it,” said Susan Graham, manager of special event for the Alzheimers Association. The West Tennessee Neuroscience and Spine Center presented organizers with a check for $5,000 in support of the walk. The Jackson walk is scheduled for Saturday, October 20 at 9:30 a.m. on the Union University Campus in Jackson.
