Missing Man Found In Pond In Henry County

HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. – According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Department, a man reported missing Thursday was found in a pond early Friday morning. Henry County officials said the man drowned, along with his dog, trapped in a tractor. Sheriff Monte Belew said the man’s wife contacted the sheriff’s department to report him missing. Officials said she was out of town and had not heard from her husband since she left town on Tuesday. Henry County officials believe the man’s death was an accident. Sheriff Belew said their investigation revealed the man had been using his tractor to do work around the pond when the accident happened. Belew said the sheriff’s department was able to use an underwater camera to find the tractor in the pond. The sheriff told 7 Eyewitness News the pond was steep at about 15 feet. During the search, officials were able to retrieve the enclosed tractor and discovered the man’s body.
