TDOT Projects Tour Visits Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn.- City, county and state leaders wrapped up their TDOT Tour of Tennessee in the Hub City, Thursday. City officials started in Paris, Monday and ended the West Tennessee tour in Jackson. Officials discussed construction in Madison County along I-40 and Old Hickory Boulevard, Malesus Road, Highway 412 East and other areas. The tour included all four regions of Tennessee and allowed TDOT officials to hear concerns in each area. “Well everybody wants roads and so that’s kind of the main thing,” said John Schroer, Tennessee Commissioner of Transportation. “What we try and do is go out to our local partners about what priorities are theirs. We have some budget restrictions and we can’t build everything everyone wants to build, so we try to set priorities.” This was the second annual Projects Tour across the state of Tennessee. City officials said it was a great way for people to see the projects in motion.
