Neighbors Express Concerns After Shooting

JACKSON, Tenn. – It was another scene of shots fired Monday night in east Jackson leaving one person wounded. Jackson Police say they received several calls from people living near Holland Avenue around 9 p.m. Marion Wilson says sounds of gun shots have become too common and thinks it is time to bring back the Neighborhood Watch program. “We’ve had two killings over here with in the last five years,” said Marion Wilson. Wilson said before the recent shooting he heard several shots fired close to his house over the weekend. “I had gone to bed after I got in my bedroom I heard the weird sound again and so I got up went to the front room and saw the police lights blinking,” said Wilson. Wilson said he has lived on the corner of Holland Avenue and Everett Street for more than 50 years and has no plans for moving any time soon.
