NYT Columnist Speaks at Union Forum

JACKSON, Tenn- Faculty and students at Union University and students at Union University were excited to host a special guest on campus, Thursday afternoon. New York Times journalist Ross Douthat spoke at the 14th annual Union Forum luncheon. Douthat is the youngest opinion editorial columnist in the history of the newspaper. He spoke to the crowd on the role of Christianity in American Society and his book, “Bad Religion”. Douthat hopes that students will remember his main message. “From a point of view on American society as a whole that the country would be better off, our politics would be better off, ordinary life would be better off if we had stronger institutional religion,” said New York Times columnist Ross Douthat. Douthat’s stop at Union University, Thursday is one of many he will be making across the country to promote his book.
