JACKSON, Tenn. – Students at Parkview Learning Center raised a brand new flag at the school, Thursday morning. The center relocated to the east Chester building a year ago and the flag that was being raised was deteriorating. That is when the Modern Woodmen of America stepped in and donated a flag to the school. School leaders said after recent events in the middle east its more important than ever to pay tribute to those who have risked their lives for freedom. “We’re trying to let them know these people that are dying for us aren’t dying for nothing. They are the next generation and they must keep our country free they must learn to respect our flag and keep it flying high,” said Principal Paul Thatcher. He said Parkview students are concentrating on the importance of the flag in their history classes.
