ALAMO, Tenn. – The Crockett County High School teacher and coach charged with raping a 15-year-old student returned to court Thursday. Perry Reeves, 29, was scheduled for a preliminary hearing Thursday afternoon on charges of statutory rape, statutory rape by an authority figure, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. But instead of going ahead with testimony, the history teacher opted to waive his right to the hearing, and have his case sent straight to the October grand jury. Reeves was arrested in June, after deputies said the girl’s boyfriend called 911 upset that she was cheating on him. The teen was arrested after officers said they caught him breaking out the windows of Reeves’ truck, which was parked near the girl’s house.
