Pumpkin Sales to Benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital

Finger, Tenn. – A farmer in McNairy County wants to give back to the hospital that saved his daughter’s life. Lance Carter has sold over one thousand pumpkins with the proceeds going to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis. He hopes to sell 3,000 more pumpkins in the next few weeks. His two year old daughter Kensley was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma last year and she spent fifteen months at St. Jude Children’s Hospital. “We went one week having a healthy child and having a diagnosis in one week and it was a bumpy road”, said Mother, Leslie Carter. Last year Kensley had a tumor the size of a softball on her abdomen. Two weeks ago the family found out she is cancer free. Lance Carter is now selling pumpkins at two locations on Finger road between Finger and Leapwood in McNairy County. “Saint Jude gave us our life back. If it were not for Saint Jude our child would not be here” said Leslie Carter.
