U of M-Lambuth Hosts Ribbon Cutting for a School of Nursing

JACKSON, Tenn.- Leaders, professors and students at the University of Memphis are celebrating the opening of a new School of Nursing on the Lambuth campus. Supporters of the school gathered at the newly renovate Hyde Hall to cut the ribbon for the Lowenberg School of Nursing Wednesday afternoon. To accommodate the nursing program, the first floor of the hall was renovated to include classrooms, four labs, debriefing and observation rooms plus offices and a computer lab. School leaders said the Lowenberg School has an unsurpassed record of providing high quality nursing workforce to serve the community. The beauty of human/patient simulation is that,” said Christie Schrotberger, MSN, RN and clinical assistant Professor of Nursing. “It gives them a safe to practice their skills where they are able to make mistakes and learn from those mistakes so that they don’t have to learn from experience with a real person.” 20 new nursing majors began the program this fall.
